[STYLE] A NEW LINK UP IS LANDING: JD X MATTB CUSTOMS
The new partnership will make waves in the customisation game, taking things up a level for JD consumers.
Today JD, the leading retailer for youth fashion and sportswear brands is proud to announce its latest partnership with exclusive footwear and customisation brand, MattB Customs, to create the freshest, bespoke designs in the game exclusively for JD consumers.
Breaking the boundaries of bespoke designs, this exciting link-up will kick off with a one of one duffle bag made up of deconstructed JD trainers, handcrafted at Matt’s Manchester-based studio to create something entirely unique and exclusive, yet authentic to JD. Re-purposing materials like leather, mesh and soles of shoes, Matt is taking his signature sneaker customisation skills to the next level, showing how creativity and streetwear culture can walk hand-in-hand.
All starting as a hobby for Matt when friends would ask him to customise OG kicks as a student, he soon put his brand’s name on the map by opening a small studio in Manchester in 2020 once his studies were done. Fast forward a year to 2021 and the success of MattB Customs (MBC) shone through as it outgrew its workspace and transformed into the customs powerhouse it is today with a bigger and better studio where the brand is currently based.
Now one of the largest customisation brands in Europe, it’s no surprise to see that celebrities have been dripped out in gear from MBC, as seen on Ed Sheeran and his bespoke Jordan 4’s, custom Air Force 1’s for Aitch and multiple pieces for Manchester based rapper, Meekz. Other huge names MBC has created fresh customs for include global brands such as Google, Netflix and Nike.
Commenting on the partnership, MattB Customs said, “Having hosted a workshop at the JD Foundation x BLGC take-over and created unique designs for the brand at Longitude this year, I’m so honored to be taking my partnership with JD up a notch to make even bigger waves in the customs game.
