[STYLE] NIGO X LEVI’S 501 + TRUCKER JACKET CAPSULE

Iconic Japanese designer NIGO, famed for his legacy brands A BATHING APE® and HUMAN MADE, has linked up with Levi’s for a limited-edition denim capsule.

Known for his love for denim, NIGO selected a pair of 501s and a 1950s-style Type 2 Levi’s Trucker Jacket for the collaboration, with both pieces appearing beautifully distressed. Putting his own twist on these classic items, NIGO replaced the belt loops with suspender buttons and added an adjustable patch at the rear. Additional details include thigh repair, deep creases and bleached sections.

The trucker jacket is extra special and is modelled on one NIGO bought with his pocket money in 1986. He said, “I bought it for 380,000 yen at the time. Because it was too much money, I lied to my mother [saying] it was 3,800 yen.” To complete this highly-anticipated collaboration, the imagery includes trippy visuals as present day NIGO sits beside his 1986 doppelgänger, wearing the capsule collection, sat outside of his Curry Up restaurant chain.

Set your alarms and head over to the Levi’s Japan website from July 9-11 to sign up and be in with a chance to get your hands on the NIGO x Levi’s capsule, as the jacket and jeans are both limited to just 100 units each.
