Dickies Unveils Chinese New Year Capsule Collection: A Tribute to the Year of the Snake

Dickies, the iconic American workwear brand, is kicking off the Year of the Snake with a bold new collection blending heritage with innovative and modern design. The new capsule collection draws inspiration from the Texas rattlesnake, channeling the spirit of resilience and strength that Dickies has championed throughout their history.

Crafted with passion, pride and the brand’s signature workwear style, the pieces capture the feeling of the Texas desert landscape, a place where grit and determination are key. The collection features a range of key styles, including jackets, hoodies, trousers and t-shirts, all designed to celebrate the spirit of the snake while elevating Dickies’ legacy of timeless workwear. A colour palette of Dawn Black and Mahogany Red mirror the landscapes of the Texas desert. 

 Design Highlights:

 The IKE Jacket: At the forefront of the collection, the IKE Jacket, reimagines a classic silhouette using durable canvas fabric. A gradient wash process gives the jacket a weathered, desert-inspired aesthetic embodying the ruggedness of the Texas desert. A standout feature of the jacket is the chest zip pocket, incorporating a snake head into the inside pocket for added design flair. The zip head is hand-woven in the shape of a snake’s tail, making it detachable and usable as a pendant. Zig-zag stitching along the reinforcement sections subtly emphasizes the snake’s shape, achieving a low-profile yet striking effect.

Double-Knee Pants: Dickies’ signature double-knee pants are reimagined with a bold, “snakebite” mark – a distinctive cut on the outer knee taking the spirit of workwear to the extreme.

The Hoodie: The classic zip-up hoodie, a staple of Dickies’ versatile workwear, takes on a new twist with the addition of the “Year of the Snake” totem on the chest and similar design details found in the jacket. 

The T-Shirt: A versatile T-shirt with neckline detailing with a unique three-pronged stitch, with a ‘snake-like’ design providing an elevated take on a wardrobe staple.
