[STYLE] DR. MARTENS X DEYAZ SUMMER ’23 CAMPAIGN

Dr. Martens partners with 22-year-old multi-instrumentalist Deyaz for the ultimate offbeat summer.

Born over 60 years ago as a humble work boot and over the following six decades to come the brand has by its very nature been built by the communities and wearers that have adopted them. Free thinkers, creatives and subcultures spanning sounds, waves and generations, the Dr. Martens brands heritage continues to be cemented deep within music.

Kicking off an offbeat summer with emerging multi-instrumentalist Deyaz, this London centric summer campaign seeks to celebrate Deyaz’ non-conformist roots and alternative approach to his musical journey. Directed by Meeks & Frost, the two-part mini-doc seeks to take viewers on a visual and sonic journey through his musical process and how he came to be not one member of the band, but every member of his own band. Honing spotlight on Deyaz’ natural affinity to the DM’s DNA – from donning DMs back in his busking days around Camden, to his rebellious approach towards the future of music.

Deyaz drive shines through creating for the love of creating. A non-confined musician with DIY approach and at only 22 years old, Deyaz is one of many Gen Z creatives making moves outside of the studio and flashing lights. Shot in the new summer collection – the Carrara pack- Deyaz shows us his individual style as he approaches festival circuits and summer season – featuring both the 1461 and Adrian silhouettes.

Deyaz has also scored the videos, a touch that cannot go unrecognised collaborating with Dr.Martens on every element of the production from beginning to end. Deyaz has quite the Summer ahead of him, performing on the BBC introducing stage at his first Glastonbury as well as a number of releases coming up throughout the Summer.

Kicking off the offbeat summer journey with the campaign itself, Dr. Martens and Deyaz will be joining forces this summer long to open doors and offer support to musically interested individuals. Keep your eyes peeled, more to come!
