[STYLE] KICK GAME ANNOUNCE SECOND ANNUAL SNEAKHXR FEST

Kick Game have announced their second annual ‘SNEAKHXR FEST’ event on the 11th March at 31 New Inn Yard, Shoreditch. The event is in celebration of International Women’s Day (March 8th) and seeks to shine a light on the women making a difference in the world of sneaker and streetwear culture.

The event will see panels from a host of the most important women in the fashion industry, as well as food stalls, art, and giveaways supplied by Kick Game. Moreover, SNEAKHXR FEST will feature DJ sets from an all female line up of Hannah Wants, Joce Wavy, and Cvssie. There will also be a panel held by the legendary BBC Radio 1Xtra DJ Tiffany Calver, making this event an unmissable occasion.

Speaking on the event CEO of Kick Game Alicia Thompson states:

“SNEAKHXR FEST was a huge success last year so we’re really excited to present a bigger and better version of the event for 2023. At Kick Game we think it is really important to champion inclusivity and diversity and we think that this is the perfect opportunity to celebrate the women who are driving forward streetwear culture.”

Ayat El-Zein, Head of Talent & Partnerships, added:

“SNEAKHXR FEST was born from the desire to create a space for marginalised groups. This event is very close to home for me as a female in the sneaker industry. It was very important for me to support and empower women in a male dominated space and give talented females the recognition they deserve. The purpose of the event is to celebrate and empower women, and to provide a platform for females to showcase their talents under one roof, transcending industries and providing a space for creatives to network and engage in fashion, art, culture, food, sports and music.”

Kick Game takes pride in its diversity and inclusivity as a company, with employees from 14 countries across 5 different continents, as well as four head of department positions being filled by women, three of which are from ethnic minority backgrounds.

Furthermore, multiple women at Kick Game in leadership positions have been promoted internally through career development planning. Ayat El-Zein is the Head of Talent & Partnerships, Georgia Bolton is Marketing Manager, Natasha Parris works as Senior Designer, Antonette Harrison is Event Producer and Project Manager, Liliana Salih-Miller is the Head of Customer Experience and Alicia Thompson holds the position of CEO after being promoted from CFO in 2021. These internal promotions to senior leadership positions are indicative of the strong gender balance within the company. Kick Game is therefore at the forefront of equal opportunity as a business, and with their latest expansion into Europe after their store opening in Milan, the luxury streetwear retailer will continue to blaze a trail when it comes to celebrating and promoting women in the world of fashion and streetwear.

SNEAKHXR FEST will therefore be an opportunity to educate a new generation of women in how to break through and shine in a male dominated industry, as well as celebrating those who have already achieved success.
