DEEBABY INTERVIEW: VIPER PRESENTS [FEATURE]

DEEBABY INTERVIEW

DEEBABY INTERVIEW: With his 2021 single ‘Marz’ catapulting DeeBaby to the forefront of the Texas rap scene, DeeBaby’s soulful drawl, tight rhyming technique, and raw lyricism drew the attention of Kevin Gates who gave DeeBaby his enthusiastic co-sign, affectionately calling him “the Mexican Gates.” Get familiar…

What five words define your sound?

Strong, sound, real, honest, power.

Tell me something unique about your creative process.

Sometimes it may take me up to three days of sleeping and walking in and out the studio before I actually make a song.

Which song of yours would you like people to hear first?

‘Ting Ting’

What inspired you to make that song?

I fell in love with a ting ting; very simple .

What’s the most vulnerable you’ve allowed yourself to be when writing/making music?

I’m way too open when it comes to literature. I have no filter, I have no limitations.

What’s the best/worst experience you’ve had on stage?

One of the worst was opening up for my brother Aaron May. It was the first time in forever; I realised I had to hit another fan base and I thank him for telling me to do that.

What is your favourite song to perform?

I like to perform ‘Numb’.

Which artist/song/album made you want to make music?

I’d have to say it was mostly music that came on the radio while I was younger and there were a lot of different genres. I love all genres including Country etc…

What’s the meaning behind your name?

My name starts with a ‘J’ and my dads name also starts with ‘J’ but they called him “Dingy,” which is where they got “Dee” from. So they call me “Lil Dee” and now my son is baby Dee.

If you weren’t making music, what would you be doing instead?

Honestly, I have no idea but I’d definitely still be living a life of luxury.

What’s success to you?

Waking up and being able to try again, until you finally hit the next level – it’s always a next level.

What moment in your life/career forced you to change direction?

I was going down a long dark road that led to luxury but down that road were way too many possibilities of not making it to the L word at the end.

Where can people keep in touch with you?

YouTube will give you a very good description of me and you can get to know me by listening to my songs so search up DeeBaby and I’ll know a little more about you by telling me which song you like.
