LOU DE BÈTOLY REIMAGINES DICKIES ICONS INTO COUTURE: Dickies, the iconic American workwear brand, continues to inspire boundary pushing creativity as French designer Lou de Bètoly transforms Dickies ICON pieces into bespoke, avant-garde high fashion. Debuting at Berlin Fashion Week, Bètoly’s AW25 collection reinterpreted Dickies’ Eisenhower jackets, work shirts and 874 pants, demonstrating the brand’s enduring versatility and its role as a canvas for self expression.
Known for crafting garments from vintage and deadstock materials, Lou de Bètoly combined Dickies’ heritage workwear with couture craftsmanship, draping, pleating and embellishing these durable, functional garments into new forms of wearable art.
With meticulous handwork and a commitment to upcycling, Bètoly’s designs explored the creative potential of durability, transforming Dickies’ deadstock garments into couture level pieces while staying true to the brand’s core ethos of utility and craftsmanship.
The showcase at Berlin Fashion Week’s Spiegelsaal at Clärchens Ballhaus saw this Dickies transformation among 40 striking looks, bringing new energy to the ICON collection and further solidifying Dickies as a brand that fuels fearless creativity.
