[STYLE] DR. MARTENS LAUNCHES FIRST GLOBAL MUSIC SEARCH IN SUPPORT OF EMERGING TALENT

DR. MARTENS ANNOUNCES A CELEBRATION OF NEW ALTERNATIVE MUSIC & CULTURE TO MARK 10 YEARS OF THE PLATFORM THAT STARTED IT ALL, THE JADON BOOT. AND THE LINE-UP IS STILL GROWING.

A year-long anniversary celebration of our cult-favorite Jadon boot is amping up with a live music series dedicated to our boldest wearers. The Alternative Platform celebrates and amplifies the artists and communities emerging at the vanguards of uncompromising self-expression. Support acts for our next line-up will be chosen from and by our community through a global talent search.

Our footwear comes alive in bold, alternative music. In the decade since the Jadon boot stomped off the Dr. Martens production line, it has left its sole print on pavements and stages worldwide — its emboldening chunky sole a literal and metaphorical platform for a new generation of vibrant, fluid fearless self-expression. Pioneers of creative rebellion. Above influence. Beyond genre. Those who confront the status quo and push for progress.

To commemorate the boot’s tenth anniversary, we’re launching The Alternative Platform — a season of live music dedicated to uncovering, supporting, and amplifying the people changing the face of alternative music and culture. We kicked off our global music programme during Paris Fashion Week at La Station – Gare des Mines.
Our underground rave featured a line-up of boundary-breaking artists for a night of alternative techno with Métaraph, Cherry B Diamond, Mimi, Hyas, and OKO DJ. All proceeds from ticket sales will be donated to the Coucou Crew charity.

And the line-up is growing. The next instalment of The Alternative Platform will showcase performers chosen through a community-led talent search to uncover, support and amplify emerging artists. Winners will be invited to take the stage alongside global headliners in London, New York, and Tokyo at the end of the year.

Participants can submit their entries online at drmartens.com. Entries close 7th August.
