The landmark partnership between Converse and A-COLD-WALL* introduces the first collaboration on the Weapon Ox—a new silhouette that adds a low-cut profile to Converse’s iconic basketball shoe.
Together, Converse and A-COLD-WALL* have delivered executions of several styles, ranging from classics such as the Chuck 70, to avant-garde silhouettes including the Geo Forma Boot, Sponge Crater, and Aeon Active CX. The collaboration enters a new frontier in this latest chapter, as it helps usher in the introduction of a retro-inspired style with classic Converse heritage.
Through the Converse x A-COLD-WALL* Weapon Ox, the partnership continues exploring architecture, industrial design, and material innovations—themes it has explored in its past interpretations of Converse footwear. This design follows A-COLD-WALL*’s hallmarks of asymmetry, material exploration, and subdued color, ultimately introducing a reconstruction of the Weapon Ox that combines a worn-in feel with signature geometric cues.
The Converse x A-COLD-WALL* Weapon Ox is presented with crinkled nylon and suede on a flint gray upper, lending a subversive presentation to a classic sportswear style. Complete with a geometric tongue, semi-transparent sole, tonal stitching on the sidewall, and a first speed lacing feature, the upper also features a contrasting rust lining and three lacing options.
A three-piece apparel capsule, comprised of a reversible jacket, tapered trousers, and tee complete the collaboration’s latest offering. All three pieces feature a relaxed, gender-free fit with minimal branding and small Converse and A-COLD-WALL* logo application.
The Converse x A-COLD-WALL* Gale Jacket arrives in flint gray on one side and rust color on the other, with an asymmetric construction and metal snaps that allows for unconventional styling to feature both colors. Like the Weapon, the Gale Jacket has a crinkle satin nylon finish and asymmetrical stitching. A balaclava-style hood and heat tape help provide warmth and protection from the elements. The Gale Trousers are also reversible and can be styled in flint gray or rust. The tee completes the capsule and arrives in rust.
To bring the latest offering to life, the Converse x A-COLD-WALL* campaign features Denzel Himself, an interdisciplinary artist from London whose self-produced, experimental approach to his artform embodies the Weapon’s spirit of youthful arrogance. An artist in complete control of his creative destiny, Denzel Himself pushes his world and his abilities to their limits. The campaign imagery was photographed by Ken-Tonio Yamamoto.
The Converse x A-COLD-WALL* Chuck 70 Ox releases at A-COLD-WALL* on March 11, followed by Converse on March 14.
