[STYLE] DR. MARTENS X MARC JACOBS COLLECTION

Following the success of our previous sell-out styles, our collaboration with Marc Jacobs is revived for a new era. With a kinship dating back to the 90s, our brands have been storming through endless subcultures and social spheres, breaking all the moulds as we go. An attitude and spirit that fuelled artists back then and stills burns bright in musicians like Yves Tumor today.

Marc Jacobs is known for rewriting the rules of fashion. Runways. And culture. He’s been tirelessly beating the drums of disruption and individuality since he founded his namesake brand. Being one of the first designers to send Dr Martens down the runway, with models in slip dresses, the iconic boot and a bold attitude, during his reign as Creative Director at Perry Ellis’ 1993 show. A look never seen on the catwalks before Marc Jacobs had his say. It cemented his place in the history books and brought grunge to the forefront.

This mutual desire to live life at large – with zero compromises – is underscored by our latest release: part of our 10-year celebrations of the iconic Jadon boot. A symbol of subversion since it first rolled off the DM’s production line in 2013, the Jadon boot is the platform that started it all – allowing wearers to stand tall. Engineered to empower – time and time again.

Developing the layered relationship Dr. Martens and Marc Jacobs have built over several collaborations, the designer pays homage to the heritage of the Jadon silhouette leaving it completely untouched, a sign of respect of the timeless design that doesn’t need altering. Instead Marc embellishes the Jadon boot with charms and keep sakes, their cherished collected items which are proudly adorned on the boot.

The boot is finished with a dual-branded tongue and swing tag, and is part of a collection of reworks for the Jadon boot’s 10th anniversary. Celebrating a decade spent at the feet of wearers who want to show the world what they stand for.

The new Dr. Martens x Marc Jacobs collaboration lands on 15.09.23 at drmartens.com.
