Ahead of his latest projects, we sat down with the man behind the moniker to discuss his creative quirks, the weight of family history, and why a Natasha Bedingfield classic remains the ultimate blueprint.
What five words define your sound?
Irish, jovial, loves Mac Miller.
Tell me something unique about your creative process?
Sometimes I’ll write an entire song to an already existing song and then work with someone to write a new instrumental after. Also if you say anything remotely interesting around me in conversation, I’ll probably stop you so I can write it down in my notes.
Which song of yours would you like people to hear first?
‘Shoes Up’.
What inspired you to make that song?
The people I made it with, briskin, Joe butler, f3miii. When you make such different music to someone you’re working with, it’s a fun challenge to find where your middle ground is.
