What four words define your sound?
Four words to define my sound I’d say Authentic, Raw, Original, Gritty…
Tell me something unique about your creative process?
A unique thing about my creative process, I’d say my songs are recorded by myself in my house.
Which song of yours would you like people to hear first?
The song I’d suggest everyone go hear first would be W1ZZY – ‘Whistle’.
What’s the most vulnerable you’ve allowed yourself to be when writing/making music?
I’d say making and putting out music leaves you vulnerable as a whole as you’re giving strangers an insight on your life.
Which artist/song/album made you want to make music?
I used to listen to a lot of Gucci Mane & 50 Cent tapes when I was younger. That made me want to start music.
What’s the meaning behind your name?
Before Rap I went by the name K1, then a lot of close friends started calling me K Wizzy. So when I started rapping I just stuck to W1ZZY as I wanted to differentiate the two. The names represent different stages of my life.
If you weren’t making music, what would you be doing instead?
If I wasn’t making music I’d probably be involved in football somehow.
What’s success to you?
Success to me is being able to transition from life on the streets and making sure my family’s good.
What moment in your life/career forced you to change direction?
The moment I realised a lot of people from all over the world actually listen to my music made me realise I need to take this seriously.
