Liverpudlian rapper Hazey just dropped ‘Bringing It Back’, he breaks down his favourite mixtape of all time to VIPER…
What’s your favourite mixtape ever?
‘Training Day 2’ by Potter Payper
Why is it so significant to you?
I related to it a lot, I was going through tough times when I found it and the tape helped me through that.
Were there any artists or producers that you discovered through this tape?
Nah, I didn’t discover any other artists through the mixtape, for me this was the start of me discovering Potter.
Where exactly were you when you heard the mixtape for the first time?
I was just at home probably in my room looking through YouTube. It was when Potter had just started to blow up and I come across this mixtape and it’s been my favourite ever since.
Did it come into your life at a significant time?
Yeah it definitely did, right timing for sure!
How did the mixtape cover make you feel?
To be honest the artwork didn’t make me feel any type a way, as it’s very London and I’m a born and bred Scouser!
Describe the mixtape in three words?
Relatable, Real and Cold!
What song is your personal favourite?
‘Trap Luv’
If you could put a price on this mixtape, how much would you pay?
To me it’s worth millions! If I were a label, I’d definitely be paying dough for this!
Did you have a physical copy?
Nah, I just listen to it on YouTube.
No? Which is your favourite that you have a physical copy of?
Only one I’ve ever bought was from Channel AKA, I got a copy of their ‘Channel U’ CD back in the day.
