CAPTAIN MORGAN PRESENTS: THE SPICE ON SZN TAKEOVER: What happens when you hand over the keys to a forgotten office building to one of the UK’s most vibrant radio collectives and let Captain Morgan bring the flavour? You get Spice on SZN. A summer of unexpected takeovers. An unapologetically bold celebration of rum, music, nostalgia, and community spirit that turns the mundane into a moment worth remembering.
Last week, Captain Morgan and cultural instigators Foundation FM flipped the everyday on its head with the first instalment of their Spice on SZN here in London, taking over an abandoned office building in the heart of Shoreditch and transforming it into an electric, nostalgia-fuelled rave space.
With retro tech, flowing drinks, custom event merch, the setting transported guests into a playful reimagining of the typical 9-to-5, replacing spreadsheets and Excel with sound systems and static desks with dance floors. The vibe? Everything but ordinary.
Behind the decks, Electronic powerhouses Peach and OK Williams went B2B with flawless synergy, supported by an opening set from C.Frim. Together, they brought the heat to a London night that perfectly captured the magic of spontaneity and sound. Not to mention, kicking off the weekend in style.

VIPER had the chance to catch up with Kandace Williamson, Captain Morgan’s Senior Culture & Entertainment Lead in GB, who gave more insight into the vision behind Spice on SZN takeovers.
What inspired this latest Captain Morgan campaign?
Captain Morgan is all about spice and adding a touch of fun to the ordinary and the mundane. We live to bring people together to have fun over a Captain and cola. We’ve teamed up with Foundation FM, who are incredible and really bring the party vibes — to kick off summer and a series of events and festivals we’ll be showing up at.
Why an abandoned office building?
We were thinking, what are the most boring places we could host a party? It’s summer, and no one wants to be stuck in the office, so we thought, let’s take over the after-work space and flip it with Foundation FM.
What has been your favourite drink of the night?
I’m a Captain and Cola girly, that’s my go-to. The 0% is also great. I love to moderate so I like to switch between drinks.
If there’s one thing you want guests to leave with tonight, what would it be?
Just pure party energy. This is all about celebrating the brand and kicking off summer right — it’s June, festival season’s calling. We’re here to bring people together, have fun with their crew, and give back to the culture that inspires it all. Whether it’s music, style, or community — Captain’s all about showing up, not just turning up.

After my chat with Kandace, (Pictured right) I felt even more aligned with the vision and direction of culture they’re heading in. The blend of immersive games, festival culture, and bold new flavours is a smart, exciting move, especially with the chance to be among the first in the UK to try Captain Morgan’s latest innovation, Muck Pit Brew. A mix of Spiced Gold, brewed mangoes, and a dash of hop flavours blended together for the first time. It’s refreshing to see a concept that’s not only innovative but also deeply in tune with how we engage today. They’re clearly pushing things forward in a way that feels creative, current, and fun.
Next up, Captain Morgan x Foundation FM heads to Bristol. They’ll be taking over a university lecture hall this time, on Wednesday 19th June where Shanti Celeste will be going B2B with Peach. There’s something rebellious and refreshing about these unexpected locations, they add a unique edge to the experience. Who knew office blocks and lecture halls could go off like this?
And it doesn’t stop there, Captain Morgan will be popping up at festivals across the UK all summer long. They’ll be coming with the same energy, different locations, and even more spice. Just remember to drink responsibly!
