KICK GAME CEO SLAWN ANNOUNCES BIG MOVE

KICK GAME CEO SLAWN ANNOUNCES BIG MOVE: In one of his first major decisions since becoming CEO of Kick Game, maverick artist Slawn is moving the brand’s London flagship from Covent Garden.

Kick Game will announced the news on Thursday 30 January across their social media with a short film featuring Slawn and the brand’s presenter and co-owner Craig Mitch.

“Kick Game is going places – literally,” says Slawn. “Our store needs to be a spot where kids actually want to hang out. So: we move!”

Asked if his three-year-old son and co-owner Beau is on board with the decision, Slawn said: “Actually, this was all Beau’s idea. But I agree with him.”

Kick Game has become the UK’s go-to destination for luxury sneakers and streetwear in recent years, amplified by its signature YouTube show ‘Shopping For Sneakers’ which is filmed in the store. Kick Game’s YouTube channel has now grown to over a million subscribers.

The store has also hosted regular events such as album signings with Central Cee and Burna Boy and live DJ sets with the likes of Major League DJz.

The fact that the Covent Garden store was within a Grade II listed building presented some restrictions in terms of fit-out modifications and brand activity. “Kick Game always brings a crowd and sometimes those lines around the block get super busy,” says brand director Dan Nti. “We now need somewhere that can accommodate more people.”

“The new flagship will be a more creative space where we can better engage the community with classes and workshops, as well as film Kick Game content and host events,” he adds.

The location of the brand’s new flagship will be announced in due course. It is understood there is currently more than one site under consideration.
