[STYLE] BAPE®︎ INTRODUCES ‘DRAGON AND TIGER’ THEMED A RISING BAPE®︎ COLLECTION

A BATHING APE®︎’s Asian-inspired concept collection, A RISING BAPE®︎, is set to launch a
“Dragon and Tiger” themed collection.

Originating in ancient China, the dragon and tiger motif has been favoured by warlords and
Zen masters in Japan since the Muromachi period as a symbol of power and authority.
Many of the works, especially those of the “Kano” and “Rimpa” schools, which were
painted on folding screens and other media, have been passed down to the present day.
The dragon, which brings good fortune, and the tiger, which wards off evil, are also
considered auspicious and lucky creatures, as seen in the proverb ” Ryuko-Sohaku” which
describes two heroes or warriors of equal strength, such as “Takeda Shingen” and ” Uesugi Kenshin,” and in phrases such as “When a dragon sings, clouds appear; when a tiger roars, wind arises,” heard during the Great Sumo Tournament.

The collection features T-shirts, short-sleeved shirts, hoodies, nylon jackets and nylon
pants with the “Dragon and Tiger” graphic applied using a variety of techniques, including embroidery, foil printing and gel printing. Note – only the t-shirts and hoodies shall be available in EU.

The T-shirts come in three different styles, one with a rubber printed “Dragon and Tiger”
with rhinestone eyes, one with a combination of rubber and foil print, and one with a bold
comic style dragon graphic print. The hoodie has a “Dragons and Tigers” embroidered on each side of the hood.

Be sure to check out the latest collection from A RISING BAPE®, a fusion of Asian tradition
and street fashion.

The collection will be available at BAPE STORE® London on Conduit St., Mayfair or online
at UK.BAPE.COM on Saturday, August 3rd, 2024.
