AN INTERVIEW WITH TIM DUZIT: THE ARCHITECT OF CHAOS [BOLD 2026 INTERVIEW]

From the grassroots energy of ‘Native Remedies’ to the massive scale of the O2 Arena, Tim Duzit is navigating his ascent with a level of composure that borders on the surgical.
After a standout guest appearance during Dave’s headline set and a MOBO nomination for Song of the Year, the producer and artist is proving that “foreign familiarity” is exactly what the UK scene needs. We caught up with the man behind the ‘Kat Slater’ remix to discuss stage fright, validation, and why he’s only looking to collaborate with people who enjoy a good salad.
You recently came out for Dave to perform ‘Kat Slater’ at his O2 headline show. How did that come about?
We connected behind the scenes and made it happen. Dave’s a proper guy that’s done a lot for the scene and this is just the latest example of that.
Tell us more about the night itself, and what was going through your mind when you stepped out on stage?
Keep composure, another day at the office. It’s not to sound nonchalant but if I don’t think like that then that’s how things that aren’t supposed to happen start happening. If I’m being honest while on stage I was just trying not to trip over anything.
Was there a moment during that performance where it really hit you how big the occasion was?
I didn’t really have time to revel in the vastness of it and it was important to me to treat it like any other stage I would shell on a given weekend. It wasn’t till I got off and the days after that I was able to comprehend the magnitude of what I did.
You were also been nominated for this year’s MOBO ‘Song of the Year’, congrats! How did it feel when you received the news?
Grateful. I know the importance of the MOBOs in this country for black music so to be recognised by them was humbling.
