KTMELODIES INTERVIEW: VIPER PRESENTS [FEATURE] BOLD ENGAGING INTERVIEW 2025

KTMELODIES INTERVIEW

KTMELODIES INTERVIEW: Welcome to our exclusive chat with KTmelodies, a super talented and exciting new artist and producer who’s been quietly setting the global house scene on fire. Born and raised in London, KTmelodies took an unconventional route to his current LA base—he moved there on a full basketball scholarship.

Now, he’s channeling that drive into music, quickly becoming one of the most exciting new voices in the genre. Heavily inspired by the groove of Kaytranada, the pioneering spirit of early Daft Punk, and the raw energy of UK bassline, his sound is lo-fi and global all at once.

His breakout hit, “Pack Up Ya Bags,” went viral, snagged support from BBC Radio 1 and Capital Xtra, and has already passed 3 million streams. The follow-up, “Put Ya Hands In The Air” (made with his brother dBona after three years apart), is an absolute sensation, generating over 11 million views and thousands of TikTok edits while charting virally in over a dozen territories.

What five words define your sound?

Authentic, organic, bouncy, energetic, ethereal.

Tell me something unique about your creative process

Something very unique about my creative process is that I create music that reflects my current state of mind. All the way down to the instruments – they all evoke my current state of mind.

Which song of yours would you like people to hear first?

I would like people to hear a song I made called ‘stand on it’.

What inspired you to make that song?

I felt like in the world’s current state, what is most important is standing for what you believe in. And so when I was in the studio thinking about that – the lyrics came naturally.

What’s the most vulnerable you’ve allowed yourself to be when writing/making music?

I remember when I made ‘the world needs you’. As energetic and uptempo as that song sounds, I made it for my friend who had passed away to suicide. I wanted it to be a message to anybody out there that feels like they can’t go on. I put a lot of emotion into that song to the point where I was in tears while putting the chords down.

What’s the best/worst experience you’ve had on stage?

In my first DJ set – the moment people realised that I was playing my own song and started singing along.

What is your favourite song to perform?

‘the world needs you’.

Which artist/song/album made you want to make music?

‘Just a Cloud Away’ – Pharrell Williams. The first time I heard it I asked my mum to buy me a bass guitar. She accidentally got me an acoustic guitar instead and the rest is history.

What’s the meaning behind your name?

It’s a combination of my first name – “Kitan”

If you weren’t making music, what would you be doing instead?

I’d be playing professional basketball either overseas or in America.

What’s success to you?

Success was the moment that I gained my first listener. My only aim has share my creations with the world. I’m just grateful it’s on a larger scale now.

What moment in your life/career forced you to change direction?

The moment I realised I was stuck in a loop and that if I didn’t give the music everything I had – I probably wouldn’t even get the means to see my family back home. I hadn’t seen them in three years. I was already working hard but that realisation made me go even harder.

Where can people keep in touch with you?

In my community on Instagram! That’s where I give the people all the insight on my current projects I’m working on and any updates.
