Anchored by BIRKENSTOCK’S archetypal natural cork footbed, the BOSTON, which was the brands first-ever clog design when it first released back in the late 70s, had become one of BIRKENSTOCK’s most widely recognised silhouettes, thanks to both its unique closed-toe design and its unrivalled footbed experience.

In recent years, the BOSTON has become a mainstay across the global streetwear scene and has even been the subject of sought-after collaborations with the likes of Stüssy, Tekla and Rick Owens. Collaborations aside, the BOSTON’s sleek yet functional construction makes it equally as impressive both the foot and the eyes in silos, with its seasonal swathe of fresh seasonal colourways – including AW24’s faded purple – now a go-to unisex option for the discerning dresser globally.

While the BOSTON’s visible attributes, its architectural-inspired design and visible materials are arguably its most appealing facet, the suede slip-on clog, like all of the BIRKENSTOCK arsenal, has the iconic BIRKENSTOCK footbed at heart. After all for BIRKENSTOCK, everything starts with the footbed, the brands unmatched solution to empower everyone to walk as nature intended. Crafted in Germany with natural materials such as work and latex, the footbed is an innovation often copied, but never matched.

This season’s BOSTON delivery arrives accompanied by a streetwear-inspired campaign, captured by photographer Gabriel Dugué. This style-savvy lookbook, shot in Paris, exemplifies the BOSTON ‘s unwavering versatility, showing the closed-toe clog paired with both formal and streetwear fits.

This launch underscores BIRKENSTOCK’s commitment to the clog category, a silhouette that’s been a hallmark of the brand for the best part of half a century. The fascination dates to when Karl Birkenstock first designed the ‘Kork-Clog’, which was soon renamed the BOSTON in 1976. The shoe has inspired for an impressive myriad of clog-iterations and icons themselves including the TOKIO and the NAPLES.

Birkenstock’s AW24 BOSTON collection, including the Black, Faded Purple and Taupe  iteration,, will be available to buy from September 12th priced at £130 at www.birkenstock.com and selected retailers.
