[RECAP] AFRO NATION DETROIT 2024 W/ AYRA STARR

After making its debut in Detroit last year, Afro Nation, the biggest Afrobeats celebration in the world, officially touched back down in the Motor City last night for an exciting start to their second annual edition of Afro Nation Detroit. Above all, one thing was clear: Black music reigned supreme as the festival brought incredible vibes, sights, tastes, and sounds.

Afrobeats superstar Rema brought the heat as the Saturday headliner, performing hits like “Calm Down,” “Dumebi,” and music from his new album HEIS. Just before, Afrobeats titan Kizz Daniel blazed the stage with hits like “Buga (Lo Lo Lo)” and “Cough (Odo).”

The women brought the house down throughout the day! Today saw performances from talented bombshells like songstress Ayra Starr, Amapiano powerhouse Uncle Waffles, and Detroit’s very own Kash Doll. While Ayra and Kash performed their viral tracks “Rush” and “Ice Me Out,” Uncle Waffles lit up the Piano People stage with straight bangers as she turned the stage into a party.

The day kicked off on the main stage with smooth and soulful vibes from Detroit native, Charity, and unique performances from Ghanaian star, King Promise, and on the Piano People stage, South African talents like Musa Keys and enigmatic duo 2woBunnies had the crowd moving from the moment they entered the festival.
