[STYLE] JD LINKS UP WITH BEAUBEAUS, SUPPORTED BY SLAWN

For back-to-school art workshops and an exhibition, curated by Museum of Youth Culture

JD, the leading retailer for sports, fashion and lifestyle brands, launches its latest Back to School campaign: ‘Start Fresh’. Paying tribute to the boundless energy, unique individuality and unstoppable spirit of today’s youth as they gear-up for a new chapter ahead of going back to school.

To celebrate ‘Start Fresh’, JD will be collaborating with popular East London community hub, BeauBeaus to host a series of  immersive art workshops supported by contemporary artist, Slawn along with showing a back-to-school exhibition in the space, curated by Museum of Youth Culture, that pays homage to the evolution of the ultimate uniform icon of the schoolyard: the backpack.

Across Wednesday 21st and Thursday 22nd August, BeauBeaus will launch a special viewing of the Museum of Youth Culture’s exhibition, which documents the evolution of the backpack in British youth street culture – celebrating the past to present day designs. The exhibition will also celebrate 25 years of the of iconic JD duffle bag, which has had the nation’s back for over two decades, all whilst having a drink on JD and chicken wings from Wingstop at key times throughout the day, available from the BeauBeaus café.

The JD ‘Start Fresh’ campaign is inspired by the creative ‘Fire and Ice’: Fire fits, ice cold product

To mark the launch, BeauBeaus owner and renowned artist Slawn, whose artistic style incorporates spray paint, pop-art canvases, graffiti and caricatures, has designed two bespoke pieces of art influenced by ‘Fire and Ice’, that will be transformed into collectable clothing patches. All workshop guests will be able to take these exclusive patches home with them to don on their back-to-school essentials and stand out from the crowd.

On Thursday 22nd August, the BeauBeaus creative team will be hosting immersive ‘Fire and Ice’ art workshops, for fans to design and customise their own back to school backpack and clothing patches like Slawn’s, encouraging them to showcase their own individuality and creative style as they head back to school.

So, if you want to be a part of one of the JD ‘Start Fresh’ art workshops this August, sign up via BeauBeaus community registration link here to be in for a chance to claim a spot.
