Tell me something unique about your creative process

Consciously I initiate the idea and then I delegate it to my subconscious.

Which song of yours would you like people to hear first?

‘Welcome To London’.

What’s the most vulnerable you’ve allowed yourself to be when writing/making music?

About four years ago I wrote a song called ‘Antisocial’, that might be the closest I’ve been to totally vulnerable on a song.

What’s the best worst experience you’ve had on stage?

Best experience recently was performing at Parklife with Skrillex, I don’t really have bad experiences on stage apart from technical errors sometimes which are out of my control.

What is your favourite song to perform?

Right now it’s ‘Shella Verse’

Which artist/song/album made you want to make music?

Growing up, I didn’t really want to make music and there was no particular artist that made me want to until my peers started making music, like friends and family. One in particular was J2K. When we was just spitting and having random freestyles he had a whole mix CD and everything was put together like an artist so he kinda influenced me to take it more seriously.

What’s the meaning behind your name?

‘Dan’ is patois for ‘Don’ and my flow is lovely so that makes me the Flow Don aka Flowdan.

If you weren’t making music, what would you be doing instead?

If I wasn’t making music I’d be making music.

What’s success to you?

For me, success is opportunity.

What moment in your life/career forced you to change direction?

I wouldn’t say I ever changed direction but I started to push and really want more for myself when I decided that the passion was fuelling the skill and the skill was enabling the passion.
