The next chapter of the Converse x A-COLD-WALL* collaboration brings Samuel Ross’ conceptual vision to a progressive, functional capsule that applies a utilitarian veneer to the Chuck 70 and is complimented by a collection of original apparel.

Since debuting A-COLD-WALL*’s first collection in collaboration with Converse at London Fashion Week in 2019, Ross has continued pushing the partnership into new spaces. An expert in functional overlays, he has infused the signature A-COLD-WALL* design aesthetic into key Converse innovation concepts — comfort sustainability, and utility. This latest offering is inspired by craft and emphasises utility, offering a uniform intended to minimise time spent on outfit choices and maximise time spent creating.

Presenting this collection on behalf of Converse and A-COLD-WALL* is multi-instrumentalist musician Takuya Nakamura, whose experimental, rule-breaking craft shares the ethos of the brands’ collaboration. Nakamura is renowned for playing the trumpet over live electronic sets, where he blends genres spanning techno, reggae, dub, drum and bass, classical, and everything in between. His craft also harmonises with the Converse x A-COLD-WALL*’s aesthetic by meshing both analog and digital instruments to create a forward-thinking sound.

The collection comes to life as A-COLD-WALL* puts a subversive spin on street style with a limited-edition Chuck 70 Ox that pairs a waxed-canvas upper with translucent and layered details, minimalist style cues, and a patina effect that echoes the well-worn spirit of classic Chucks. Timeless Converse elements are woven into this modern take, including a vintage license plate. The Chuck 70 will be available in Oceana and Green.

The accompanying style-forward apparel capsule is comprised of a navy gilet, dark green pine long-sleeve polo, as well as t-shirts and shorts in both navy and stone. Rounding out the latest Converse x A-COLD-WALL* offering is a rucksack featuring a modern, geometric shape with water-proof zipper closures, reflective prints, and a durable construction.

This Converse x A-COLD-WALL* Chuck 70 and complementary apparel capsule will commercialize at A-COLD-WALL*on July 6, followed by Converse.com and select retailers on July 11.
