The legendary drummer, Hip Hop producer, DJ, and Songwriter, Karriem Riggins has just released his new Native Instruments produced mini-documentary, Behind The Sleevesalong with his new NI Play Series instrument, “Karriem Riggins Drums”. In the new documentary, Karriem breaks down some of the impressive highlights from his career, including being asked by J Dilla to put the finishing touches on his now classic album, The Shining after his passing.
Also detailing his collaborations with Madlib, Common, Slum Village, and most recently, Steve Lacy, the documentary gives a behind-the-scenes look into Karriem’s inspiring legacy while showcasing his work with Native Instruments on their new Play Series instrument, “Karriem Riggins Drums”. Recorded at Sunset Sound’s Studio 3, where Prince lived and recorded, the new Play Series instrument offers an abundance of kits and groove patterns created by Karriem himself who said the instrument was, “created to inspire musical diversity and explore how expansive the Law of Rhythm really is.”
