ARMOR-LUX AW26 THE FISHERMEN – 5 WAYS BRITTANY’S COASTLINE SHAPES A CONSIDERED NEW MENSWEAR WARDROBE

ARMOR-LUX AW26 THE FISHERMEN – 5 WAYS BRITTANY’S COASTLINE SHAPES A CONSIDERED NEW MENSWEAR WARDROBE: Some clothes are designed for the runway. Others are designed for the weather.
On the Breton coast, the Atlantic sets the rules. The wind comes in hard off the Iroise Sea, the sky shifts from grey to black in a matter of minutes, and the people who make their living along the shoreline dress for one thing above all else: getting through the day. It is this world that Armor-Lux returns to for Autumn/Winter 2026.
Titled The Fishermen, the collection looks to the people who have worked Brittany’s coastline and waters for generations, and to the clothing built to withstand the conditions they face. For a brand founded in Quimper in 1938, this is not a new reference point. It is home.
1. Argol: The Shoreline
The first chapter takes its name from the Breton village of Argol, set between cliffs and the Iroise Sea. The palette is drawn straight from the landscape: the grey of the sky, the deep blue of the ocean and the muted tones of the shore. Clean silhouettes, substantial layers and hardwearing pieces echo the functional wardrobe of the Breton fisherman.
2. At Sea: Life Aboard the Trawler
The second chapter heads offshore. Inspired by life on a trawler working through the changing conditions of the Atlantic, the colours warm up into rich browns, contrasted with the glow of signal lights and the darker shades of a stormy sea. Wool layers and enveloping shapes put warmth and protection first.
3. Two Sides of the Coast
Together, the two chapters capture the contrasting realities of coastal life:
- The shoreline, quieter and more exposed.
- The open sea, harsher and more unforgiving.
- The fishermen who move between both.
4. Nothing Unnecessary
There is little excess detail anywhere in the collection. Every piece has a purpose and is built with its environment in mind, an approach that has defined Armor-Lux for more than 85 years.
5. Heritage That Still Matters
Stripes, knitwear, outerwear and workwear-inspired pieces have long been the Armor-Lux signature. For AW26, that maritime heritage stays firmly at the centre, resulting in a menswear wardrobe with a genuine sense of place, shaped by the Atlantic, the weather and the practical needs of life on the coast.
The Fishermen. AW26. Built for the Breton Coast.
