Farah’s SS23 collection ‘The Brotherhood of Eternal Love’ launches and is inspired by the free-spirited attitude of early 70’s Los Angeles.
Early 70’s LA. New waves of counterculture were emerging in this easy going county. Youth prevails with a free spirited, beach commune lifestyle and a fiercely independent style – the Brotherhood of Eternal Love, set the free spirited psychedelic agenda. This is all captured through the lens of legendary surf photographer Jeff Divine. From this scene Farah draws its source inspiration for SS23.
Dive straight into fresh colour stories typical of sun-bleached afternoons on Laguna Beach, from muted orange, peach and yellow to plays on ocean-inspired blues; steady neutrals are mixed in with psychedelic pops of lilac and lime.
Complimentary to the spirit of the 70s, the collection sees the return of the revere collar and a strong steer towards vintage-inspired casual shirts, in an array of fabrications from everyday cotton twill to toweling. Key pieces include the Trestle featuring a summer-feel, woven crepe check, the Rincon – a cord revere collar option while the long sleeve Larsen boasts a Lyocell composition, as well as the introduction of a new, relax-fit to Farah’s signature Brewer shirt.
Accents of vintage-inspired surf graphics, from hand-painted artwork seen on campervans to mystical art and anti-establishment slogans of the era, have all been reworked across staple pieces including the Venice and the Craig T-shirt. Subtle seasonal prints include a retro repeat-tile-pattern and all-over chintzy floral design, both inspired by original source material of the time and available as coordinated shirt and short sets.
