[STYLE] CONVERSE & LIVERPOOL FC PARTNER TO CHAMPION CREATIVITY

Converse and Liverpool FC Partner to Champion the Creativity and Diversity of Football Fandom…

Converse and Liverpool FC unveil their new limited-edition capsule collection with a celebration of the creative and diverse nature of the club’s beating heart – it’s supporters.

In this first link up between the two global icons, this lifestyle collections also pays homage to the passion and rich history of LFC, while championing its future.

Five young Reds – broadcaster Rubi Deschamps, singer Rain Castillo, multidisciplinary artist Sterling Rose Kelly, rapper Dayzy and commentator and campaigner Roopa Vyas – take centre stage in this original collaboration, with a campaign called ‘creating from the ground up’.

The launch also features an all-star line-up of five LFC players Andy Robertson, Fabio Carvalho, Shanice van de Sanden, Taylor Hinds and Leanne Kiernan.

The collaboration kicks-off with nine pieces, dual branded with LFC and Converse logos. Two standout pieces include the iconic Chuck 70 high top sneakers which are covered with Liver birds, Sea Holly and YNWA, and the woven heritage varsity jacket with special references to the 1984 European Cup finals ticket where the Reds beat Roma on penalties. Also, in the collection are a bucket hat, run star hike sneakers, polo shirt, t-shirt, shorts, tracksuit top and bottoms.

“Being a Red doesn’t just mean wearing a jersey or standing on the terraces,” says Steven Bramble, VP/GM Converse Western Europe. “It’s about expressing yourself and your love of football in whatever way you want. We couldn’t be prouder to celebrate and showcase modern dimensions of the LFC community’s creativity through our upcoming collection and campaign.”

“We’re excited to announce the launch of this collection with Converse and welcome this iconic brand to the LFC family,” says Mike Cox, Head of Merchandising and Retail at Liverpool FC. “It’s an exciting collaboration which celebrates the creative and diverse fan base that make this club special.”

LFC defender Andy Robertson said: “The city as a whole is very accepting of everyone with different backgrounds, people brought up in different ways. I think the club opens their arms to everyone, we see that day-to-day with the staff that work there, and we see it week-to-week with the fans coming through the turnstiles. As a city, it’s amazing what they do, but as a club they’ve followed in the footsteps. Liverpool is open to everyone.”

Converse has an ongoing community-focused All Star program, which has created opportunities for over 3,000 emerging creatives around the world. The brand also has a commitment to elevating creative voices in the UK, including Isaac Andrews, Ojeremie and Paris Rabone, plus Create Next Film Project filmmakers Ade Femzo, Lorraine Khamali, Kaylen Francis, Ibrahim Muhammad & Kemi Anna Adeeko.
