What five words define your sound?

Futuristic, Imaginative, Enigmatic, Polarising and Infectious.

Tell me something unique about your creative process.

I let the beats tell me how to feel so I never write or listen to them until I’m in the studio.

Which song of yours would you like people to hear first?

‘Drop Top Lexus’.

What inspired you to make that song?

Depression and ambition.

What’s the most vulnerable you’ve allowed yourself to be when writing/making music?

Speaking about my grandmother and her passing on a couple of songs.

What’s the best/worst experience you’ve had on stage?

Forgetting some of my lyrics at Rolling Loud SXSW ’cause I got a li’l too lit.

What is your favourite song to perform?

‘This Is Not A Rap Song’ is probably my favourite to perform.

Which artist/song/album made you want to make music?

Kanye West, Tyler the Creator and maybe MF Doom.

What’s the meaning behind your name?

I was a big Gucci Mane fan growing up, when he got arrested I made a song called ‘Free Gucci’ and changed my name to Bigbabygucci from ‘Bigbabyfinesse’ and it stuck with people so I kept it.

If you weren’t making music, what would you be doing instead?

I’d probably be a chef or a psychologist.

What’s success to you?

To be happy with where you are, physically, mentally, emotionally, and financially is success to me. So it’s really a case by case basis.

What moment in your life/career forced you to change direction?

When I went was on the run for over a year when I graduated high school and went to college and ended up catching more charges, kicked out of school and eventually arrested for about nine months.
