[FEATURE] VIPER PRESENTS: VICTOR THOMPSON

Nigerian gospel singer and songwriter Victor Thompson speaks with VIPER about his career so far and what career path he would have chosen if not music…

What five words define your sound?

Soulful, Gratitude, Joyful, Love, Peace.

Tell me something unique about your creative process

Writing is the easiest part. My lyrics are born from my personal life. I literally look at my life, my past and I’m overwhelmed with gratitude to God. That’s what I write about.

Which song of yours would you like people to hear first?

All my songs are amazing but my current favourite is ‘carry me like baby’ on my album ‘Blessed’.

What inspired you to make that song?

God’s Love. That’s it. The overwhelming love of God.

What’s the most vulnerable you’ve allowed yourself to be when writing/making music?

Reliving moments in my head from my past. My life is a Testimony, I’m a Testament of God’s goodness.

What is your favourite song to perform?

Easy!!! ‘THIS YEAR’ (Blessings). My absolute best yet.

What’s the meaning behind your name?

Victor, I’ll never fail.

If you weren’t making music, what would you be doing instead?

Film maker. I honestly think I’ll go into filmography at some point in my life.

What’s success to you?

Peace. Living in Peace and impacting lives.

What moment in your life/career forced you to change direction?

I’ve never really had that. I honestly believe that everything in my life has happened for a reason and everything has brought me to this point.

Where can people keep in touch with you?

You can follow me on all social media as Victor Thompson.
