[STYLE] PLANET FOUNDATION TO HOST CHRISTMAS GIFT DONATIONS

Sustainable streetwear brand Broken Planet are celebrating their foundation becoming a registered charity by encouraging their community of supporters to donate gifts this Christmas. The initiative will be taking place between 10AM and 4PM this Sunday (10th December) in Hoxton, London.

The brand, founded by partners Lukas Žvikas and Indrė Narbutaitė, has enjoyed incredible success in 2023, drawing huge crowds for their pop up stores in London, Los Angeles, and New York, with many fans queuing up overnight to get their hands on new collections. Moreover, BP’s limited drops have regularly sold out in just seconds, having been worn by the likes of SZA, IShowSpeed and Maya Jama amongst others. Most recently, they shut down East London by taking over a popular newsagent on Black Friday, offering their fans the chance to get their hands on some of their most popular pieces for just £3 with custom scratch cards.

Even with all this success, sustainability and giving back to the community remains at the heart of Broken Planet’s ethos. They offer their customers a better option through organic and recycled fabrics made ethically, which also ensures that their clothes are built to last. Furthermore, the Broken Planet Foundation was started in 2021 and has already raised over £240,000. Now that the charity has been successfully registered on the UK’s Charity Register, the brand plans to undergo missions across the globe, giving back to a variety of disadvantaged communities.

For their latest activation, the brand is encouraging their community to purchase 300 gifts in Hoxton on Sunday, in exchange, earning themselves an exclusive ‘Do More Good’ T-Shirt for supporting the initiative. These gifts will also be matched by Broken Planet, so 600 gifts in total will be donated. All 600 gifts will then be wrapped in custom Broken Planet wrapping paper and donated to Young Hackney, which is an initiative run by Hackney Borough Council, and donated to children from low income families, aged 5-11.

On the day there will be complimentary cookies and hot chocolate provided by Floozie Cookies, as well as drinks from CanO Water and Karma Cola. This event promises to be a fulfilling process for all involved and is demonstrative of Broken Planet’s ambitions to set the standards in streetwear.
