Tell me something unique about your creative process

The way I find the different melodies for my songs. My process is a unique one. I can’t share that secret but trust it’s special to me, and works every time!

Which song of yours would you like people to hear first? 

Definitely ‘Hard Headed’, that song describes real emotions and experiences that I’ve been through. I’m sure everyone could relate to it.

What inspired you to make that song? 

My life! I did a lot of self reflecting when I made that song. Learning from my past and overcoming those situations inspired me to make ‘Hard Headed’.

What’s the best/worst experience you’ve had on stage? 

Best experience was my first show in Berkeley with fans chanting my name after my set for an encore. Worst was in Ohio, I just got really thirsty while I was performing on stage but I still pushed through and the show was still lit!

What is your favorite song to perform?

‘Happily Ever After’ is my fav to perform! They go crazy for that one every time!

Which artist/song/album made you want to make music? 

My pops, fasho! Nuke Bandz inspired me to make music! He’s a rapper too. As for a song by another artist: ‘Marvin’s Room’ by Drake from ‘Take Care’.

What’s the meaning behind your name? 

Took my name from my pops Nuke Bandz!

If you weren’t making music, what would you be doing instead? 

Playing basketball. That was my first love.

What’s success to you? 

Success to me is being able to see my family and friends win! 

What moment in your life/career forced you to change direction? 

First time my pops took me to a studio! I felt like at that moment, I put the basketball down and picked the microphone up.
