Skilled as a rapper and musician, G!FT is a UK artist on the rise, get familiar with this VIPER interview…

What five words define your sound?

Bouncy, fun, energetic, Controversial & relatable.

Tell me something unique about your creative process

I typically like to work on an empty stomach, it makes me more focused and helps give that effortless feel when recording.

Which song of yours would you like people to hear first?

I would say ‘Wanna Chill Baby?’ it’s a perfect blend of UK Rap and 2000’s Hip Hop and is for both guys and girls.

What inspired you to make that song?

It started as a fun freestyle with the mandem and they told me to go straight to the studio and put it down, somewhere in the night it turned into a summer anthem!

What’s the most vulnerable you’ve allowed yourself to be when writing/making music?

‘If I Knew How To Save Us’ is my most vulnerable song. It’s actually a love letter music form. I was never supposed to drop it but the person who it was for said it was too good for just her to have so I released it.

What’s the best/worst experience you’ve had on stage?

I don’t like to think about it because I still get angry thinking about it, but a couple years ago I did an intimate show in Shoreditch and my bag got stolen; it had my ID cards and house keys… what a night.

What is your favourite song to perform?

Favourite song would be either ‘Wanna Chill Baby’ or a song I have called ‘No type’ (it’s unreleased though).

Which artist/song/album made you want to make music?

Dave’s ‘Blackbox’… not sure why but that freestyle always motivates me. I still watch it to this day.

What’s the meaning behind your name?

My government name in Hebrew means Gift of God so I just took the gift part and flipped the “i” to be more unique.

If you weren’t making music, what would you be doing instead?

Probably YouTube or live streaming, people keep telling me my personality is good enough for that stuff so I’d definitely be in the creative content field for sure.

What’s success to you?

Success is doing a little bit better than you were doing yesterday.

What moment in your life/career forced you to change direction?

At one point in 2021 I was dropping a music video every month independently. It was costing me 1k+. The views weren’t great, and I wasn’t making much headway in growth. I decided to take step back and focus on my writing and diversifying with beats and developing my own sound. That’s when I made ‘If I Knew How To Save Us’ which is currently over six million streams.

Where can people keep in touch with you?
