[FEATURE]MY FAVOURITE MIXTAPE: TYNEE

Fast-rising Luton rapper TYNEE couldn’t pick one favourite mixtape, so he selected two UK street classics…

What’s your favourite mixtape ever?

I can’t pick between Nines – ‘One Foot In’ and Blade Brown – ‘Bags and Boxes 2’.

Why is it so significant to you?

It was at a time in my life when I started understanding what they were truly talking about.

Were there any artists or producers that you discovered through these tapes?

Yes, I discovered Tiggs Da Author.

Where exactly were you when you heard the mixtapes for the first time?

‘Bags And Boxes 2’, I was in fact in school in a science class. ‘One Foot In’, I’m not actually too sure.

Did it come into your life at a significant time?

I think it did, it helped me get a clear picture of a certain mindset you need to succeed and move smart.

How did the mixtape covers make you feel?

Years later I looked at the ‘Bags And Boxes 2’ cover and felt like I can relate. The ‘One Foot In’ cover looked liked my life in 2015.

Describe the mixtapes in three words?

Motivating, raw and eye-opening.

What songs are your personal favourite?

‘Bags and Boxes 2’ – ‘Break Bread’

‘One Foot In’ – Tough choice between ‘Watch and See’ and ‘Can’t Blame Me’.

If you could put a price on these mixtapes, how much would you pay?

Couldn’t put a price on that but if I was a label I would have signed them, whatever money they asked!

Did you have a physical copy?

No I didn’t really experience that CD era but I might go get one.

No? Which is your favourite that you have a physical copy of?

I had the 50 Cent ‘Get Rich Or Die Trying’ CD, well my mum did!
