Napapijri’s journey into the world of collabs continues with our first collab with iconic Italian fashion brand Fiorucci. Born from the synergy between two icons of Italian flair since the ‘90s, this collaboration celebrates freedom, fun, and self-expression through iconic shapes, all-over prints, badges, and an exciting retro look.
The shared passion of the two brands for creativity and boundary-breaking style can be seen in this capsule celebrating Fiorucci’s tradition of outstanding prints and Napapijri’s passion for iconic outerwear with a nod to 1990s streetwear. As Fiorucci’s artistic director Daniel Fletcher explains, the inspiration for this joint project “came from thinking about how the two brands meet; for me that was the idea of exploration. Napapijri is all about exploring in nature and the world [while] Fiorucci is about exploring individuality and self-expression.
The two coming together reflects this curiosity for the world.” Similarly, Napapijri’s Design Senior Manager Gabriella Busnelli ties the spirit of this collaboration to the words of Elio Fiorucci: “As Elio used to say, ‘this is an era of great elegance, especially because each person is free to create their image. There is no longer the need for wealth to build a fashionable look. Fancy is enough.’ It is precisely through a flight of fancy that we have built this capsule and our work with Fiorucci: uniting their pop heritage with our technical garments and fabrics has been a lot of fun.”
Heroing the capsule, a new unisex edition of the Northfarer jacket: Napapijri’s latest interpretation of the anorak style embodies the inspiration in a fun, light and versatile windbreaker made in recycled polyester with an all-over Fiorucci monogram print that can also be found on cycling shorts, cropped top and a long-sleeve base layer top. At the same time, an iteration of Fiorucci’s Angels exclusively created for Napapijri, brings the fun to a series of jersey hoodies and sweats, a monochrome anorak, and coordinated accessories.
The campaign developed to tell the visual story of this collaboration is representative of the lively, expressive spirit that lies behind its inspiration. It was shot in a 3D virtual reality world set in a parallel Alps universe. Entering through a screen into the Napapijri-Fiorucci world of red heather mountain landscapes and pink skies with lilac flowing rivers. The NAPAPIJRI x FIORUCCI collab will be available from January 27th on napapijri.com and in Orefici 11, our flagship store in Milan, as well as in Fiorucci’s flagship store in London, Fiorucci.com and selected retailers.
